The Puglisi Family Story begins in Sicily, Italy many, many years ago, where the family first grew vines and produced their own wine, as many Italians did. When Giuseppe Puglisi emigrated to Canada in 1965, he brought with him his passion for grape-growing and wine-making.
It is his son, Luciano (Lou), who has been passed the torch and now carries on the family tradition with the beautiful PondView Estate Winery, embracing this traditional artform and cultivating it into fine wines to be enjoyed by the public. Luciano's enthusiasm and respect of fine wines, alongside his dedication and commitment to excellence, will inspire wine lovers everywhere to truly appreciate the wonders of the vineyard. It is this firm commitment to quality that earned him the prestigious award of Grape King in 2008. An award where his vineyard was deemed "Best in Ontario".
The Puglisi Family's View? "Great Wine is a Harmony of Earth and Vine."
With over 3 generations of wine making experience, PondView Estate Winery is pleased to bring Our View of the Vine to you. Situated in beautiful Niagara Wine Country, PondView Estate Winery, a family owned winery operated by Luciano and Adriana Puglisi, is the newest addition to the Four Mile Creek appellation. With grape growing a tradition handed down through generations originating in Italy, an inherently European charm is a big part of the PondView experience.
Enjoy traditional antipasto and cheese platters at the tasting bar or the open-air terrace with incredible wine made from estate-grown grapes, including Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Grigio and Cabernet. Though the winery itself is new, the family has been growing grapes here since the 1970s. As a testament to the quality and craftsmanship put into each bottle of wine, Luciano (Lou), was crowned 2008 Grape King, a Ministry of Agriculture award for the finest vineyard operator in Ontario.
